House icon depicting the main holidays of the Russian Orthodox Church. Christ’s resurrection and victory over the realm of death (Anastasis) is depicted centrally. It shows how Christ rises from the grave and rescues Adam from the mouth of Hades. After Adam follows a long procession of Old Testament saints, closed by John the Forerunner, the last prophet before Christ. The outer border consists of sixteen small images of main feasts.
