Description

Calendar icons depict the most important saints and ecclesiastical feasts of a particular month of the entire year. In December, of course, many well-known saints and events can be seen, including the feast of Nicholas (Sinterklaas) on December 6, the Birth of Christ on December 25. Special is the iconography of the second day of Christmas. It shows how all mankind becomes acquainted with the Christ child. Mary, the Mother of God has it on her lap and they are surrounded by different groups of people. The events about Herod and the infanticide are also extensively depicted.
